Workers asked to support incoming Clark firm execs

CLARK FREEPORT — Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President Benigno Ricafort has enjoined employees of the state-owned corporation to support the incoming batch of executives.
Ricafort, at the same time, assured the “full support and cooperation” of the current CDC management and staff to the new CDC board led by incoming chairman Cesar Villanueva, and president and chief executive officer Felipe Antonio Remollo.
“I wish all incoming Clark leaders all the success,” Ricafort said.
He even expressed appreciation to President Benigno Aquino III for his support to the CDC programs for Clark and its investors.
Villanueva, who is now one of the Board of Directors of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), hails from nearby Angeles City and is the dean of the Ateneo Law School.
Remollo, on the other hand, is a former mayor (1998 to 2001) of Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental.
Upon assuming their posts, Villanueva, the board and Remollo, will be given a briefing on the highlights of CDC’s accomplishments for Clark and its contributions to the region and the Philippine economy in terms of Foreign Direct Investments (about P77 billion), exports (US$1.34 billion) and employment (60,000).
CDC has also remitted around P260 million in the form of dividends to the National Government and has advanced P1 billion to CIAC in the form of cash advances and loans from Deutsche Bank for the acquisition of radar equipment.
