San Nicolas lass crowned Mutya Ning Lubao 2011

LUBAO — An 18-year-old from Barangay San Nicolas here bested 31 other contestants in capturing the title of Mutya Ning Lubao 2011 during Wednesday’s coronation night at the Pineda’s Gym, marking the town’s 440th founding anniversary.
Lubenian Shara Dane Danan captured the hearts of the judges, winning the title.
“It’s a dream come true to be chosen as Mutya Ning Lubao. I will do my best to live up to the expectations of my fellow Lubenians and to promote our beautiful and historic town by being the ambassadress of tourism,” Danan said.
Other winners were 1st runner-up Jian Espinoza (Sto. Tomas), 2nd runner-up Rejean Santos (San Isidro), 3rd runner-up Karina Joy Macaspac (Dela Paz), and 4th runner-up Jennifer Zita (San Roque).
Aside from the trophies, the Mutya Ning Lubao received P40,000; 1st runner-up, P30,000; 2nd runner-up, P20,000; 3rd runner-up, P10,000 and 4th runner-up, P5,000.
Those who also made it to the top 16 semi-finals were Pearl Angeli Baluyut (Don Ignacio Dimson); Queen Jamaica Morales (Prado Siongco); Nephrie Manuel (Sta. Catalina); Maria Concepcion Cruz (Concepcion); Frances Grace Cruz (San Matias); Grettele Ann Salonga (Sta. Monica); Phobe Cates Santos (Santiago); Rhia Sadsad (San Juan); Angelica Puno (Sto. Nino); Danica Zita (San Miguel); and Jean Mendoza (San Antonio).
Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab said the continued progress of their town can be attributed to its intelligent, decent and hardworking people.
Cayabyab said the pageant not only showcased the beauty, talent and intelligence of the candidates but their deep commitment, concern and love for the town and their barangays.
She added that the competition will bring unity and camaraderie among the barangays and their people in support of the winner of the pageant, who will represent the town in the Miss Pampanga pageant.
Cayabyab also thanked the judges led by Philippine Basketball League and UAAP basketball player Archen Cayabyab, who is the chairman of the board of judges together with Jemi Nicdao, Onin Mas, Angelica Hizon, Richie Bondoc, Eri Fukuda and Abel Antonio.
The mayor also acknowledged the support of the Municipal Council, barangay chairmen, organizers, Gay Association of Lubao, her staff, sponsors, guests and the people of Lubao for making the event a huge success.
