Rotary holds social service mission

MAGALANG — The Rotary Club of Balibago held a series of social service programs in Barangay San Nicolas 2 here on Wednesday, with the group offering free dental and medical services, among others.
Club president Roger Santos told Sun.Star Pampanga that the mission included free medical and dental check-ups, tooth extraction, circumcision, de-worming and a feeding program for local children.
The event is part of the organization’s monthly advocacy program on community development through social and health programs.
Santos said the event is fully financed by Rotary Club members who have contributed their resources to bring about the needed materials and equipment for the mission.
“We are offered pap smear for women and will be distributing free slippers to indigent children,” Santos said, stressing the mission’s programs were manned by volunteers and Rotary Club members.
The Rotary Club of Balibago is one of the youngest Rotary Clubs in Pampanga and Central Luzon having received its charter just last 2010.
The group is composed of multi-sector representatives from Balibago and neighboring towns of Magalang and Mabalacat.
