Rotarians donate medicines, supplies to hospital

ANGELES CITY — Members of the Rotary Clubs of Midtown Tarlac and Mabalacat recently donated medical supplies and pediatric medicines to the Ospital Ning Angeles (ONA).
The donations were turned over to ONA director Dr. Tony Dizon and Angeles City Councilor Alex Indiongco during the RC Mabalacat’s weekly meeting at Garden Dine last February 17.
Rotary International District 3790 Past District Governor Jaypee Cadaing and Assistant Governor Alex Laguisma, as well as other RC presidents of Cluster 3B witnessed the turnover of the medicines.
The medical supplies came from Bob Ward of the Rotary Club of Port Pirie Australia and the Rotary World Help Network of Canada, while the medicines were part of the Medical/Surgical Program under Matching Grant #70632 of RC Galesburg USA and RC Mabalacat.
Under this program, RC Mabalacat president Tony Shilton said his club was able to sponsor medical and dental missions, free surgeries and medical treatments of indigent pediatric patients.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Rotarians from RI District 3790, together with their families, gathered at the Air Force City in Clark for a family day, a whole day fun and fellowship at Challenger’s Field Stadium last February 19.
The affair was jointly sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Mabalacat, Clark Field, Dau, Pampanga North, Angeles Kuliat, Magalang, Balibago and Angeles Midtown.
Laguisma and Past President Glo Nethercutt spearheaded the activity. Rotary District 3790 covers 10 provinces in Central and Northern Luzon under the leadership of District Governor Manny Yu. There are almost 3,000 Rotarians in the District.
Shilton and incoming RC Mabalacat President Major Franz Rosales thanked Brigadier General Fred Payawan, Wing Commander of the Philippine Air Force 600th Air Base Wing for allowing the free use of the Challenger’s Field during the Rotary Family Day.
Last Sunday, Rotarians went to SM Clark where they witnessed the opening of the Rotary Photo Contest and vintage VW car show sponsored by the Rotary Club of Angeles Kuliat.

The RC Mabalacat also received an award during the founding anniversary of the 600th ABW.
In behalf of the Rotary Club of Mabalacat, Shilton received the plaque of appreciation from Lieutenant General Oscar Rabena, PAF Commanding General, during the affair.
RC Mabalacat has been an active partner of the 600th ABW in its outreach programs.
Past wing commanders, including General Roy Camagay and General Francisco Cruz, have become members of RC Mabalacat.
Major Rellie Francisco, Civil Military Operations head of the 600th Airborne Wing, is also an active member of RC Mabalacat.
Shilton said with the support of Payawan, the 600th ABW and RC Mabalacat have conducted numerous medical and dental missions for the benefit of indigent communities in Pampanga.
