Riders-in-tandem shoot victim, steal motorcycle
ANGELES CITY — Two armed men riding-in-tandem reportedly shot a person after stealing his motorcycle and other valuables Sunday night inside the Marisol Subdivision in Barangay Ninoy Aquino here.
Police said the victim, a city hall employee here identified as Philip Duhay Lungsod Tayag, 30, of Prinston Street Marisol Subdivision, is now in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound on the face.
At around 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Tayag and his girlfriend were about to enter the former’s residence in the said village when the suspects suddenly appeared in the area.
The victim’s girlfriend told police investigators that the suspects, who were wearing bonnets and on board a Honda TMX motorcycle, poked a gun at Tayag and grabbed the latter’s bag containing a mobile phone and other valuables.
But before leaving the place, one of the suspects shot Tayag on the face.
The suspects have also taken Tayag’s new motorcycle, a Yamaha Mio with license plates 7859 RQ.
Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, city police director, said they are now conducting a follow-up operation to arrest the suspects.
As of this posting Monday, Tayag is still in the intensive care unit of the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center.
