Quarry revenues now at P224M

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Barely a year after Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda assumed her office, quarry collections reached an all time high of P224,655,000 as of May this year.
Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (Penro) Art Punsalan told Sun.Star Pampanga that the 11-month collection — averaging at P20,423,182 a month — is a clear indication and results of the time and motion study initiated by Pineda and Vice Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao.

“Right now we have strict measures on recycling of receipts and other controls of anomalies in the quarry industry. This includes more checkpoints and roving patrols to check on veracity of hauls,” he said.
In documents obtained from Penro and the office of the Kapampangan a Lulugud at Matapat, collections were recorded in 2010 at P23,505,000 in July; P20,805,000 in August; P20,715,000 in September; P17,520,000 in October; P19,950,000 in November; and P16,890,000 in December.
At the start of 2011, collections were posted at P20,280,000 in January; P20,325,000 in February; P21,780,000 in March; P19,710,000 in April; and P23,175,000 in May.
The collections under Governor Pineda surpasses those posted under previous administrations, where in 2007 P128,000,000 was collected, then P196,155,000 in 2008; P203,640,000 in 2009; and P216, 255,000 in 2010 where the last six months under the Pineda administration indicated a jumpstart and rebound from the previous administration’s June 2010 record of P13,695,000.
From January to May this year alone, P105,270,000 has been generated from Kalam in its operations.
The province’s quarry revenues, systems and strategies has just recently been hailed by a delegation from Bukidnon, which benchmarked it’s best practices, saying their one-year collection is just a day’s collection here.
