Prices of commodities still stable in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported Tuesday that prices of basic commodities in Pampanga are still stable based on its latest monitoring report.
DTI provincial caretaker Leonila Baluyut said the recent flooding in various parts of the province is no cause for prices to soar, as supply is within normal range.
She said merchants should not take advantage of the flooding situation and increase their prices indiscriminately.
“So far, prices are within stable range. The DTI is closely monitoring supply and prices in the market so that we can be assured that consumers will be able to avail of commodities within the right prices,” Baluyut told Sun.Star Pampanga.
The DTI said prices of canned goods like sardines range from P11 to P13 at 155 grams while luncheon meat is at P27.50 to P30.55 at 165 grams, depending on the brand.
The price for meatloaf is also stable, with prices ranging from P15 to P18.60 depending on the brand of preference.
The DTI said it will continuously monitor local prices and will post necessary announcements in case of price changes.
Baluyut said they are also urging consumers to carefully check the weight and the price tag of products before purchase.
Consumers may address their inquiries and complaints at the DTI at 751-3330.
