Pineda leads medical mission in 2 coastal villages

MASANTOL — Not minding a 20-minute banca ride and the six-kilometer rough road travel under the sweltering heat of the midday sun, Governor Lilia Pineda over the weekend led Provincial Board members in delivering essential services of her medical consultants and medicines to two far-flung coastal villages in Masantol.
Pineda, together with Board Members Ric Yabut, Nestor Tolentino, Fritzie David-Dizon and Trina David and other department heads of the Capitol spearheaded separate medical missions for residents of barangays Balibago and Palimpi.
“Kahit malayo, naabutan ang aming barangay ng serbisyo ng Kapitolyo,” one resident was heard saying, adding that, “Pati ang gobernador ay hindi nag-atubiling puntahan kami dito.”
The Capitol team traveled all the way to Calumpit in the nearby province of Bulacan to reach Barangay Balibago in Masantol town, a proof, beneficiaries said, of the sincerity and commitment of the officials to bring basic services to far flung communities in Pampanga.
