P200,000 reward up for rapist’s head

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Lilia Pineda has offered a P200,000 reward to whoever can pinpoint the whereabouts of a suspected rapist who sexually harassed a dentist in Mexico town last month.
Pineda said the reward will hasten the manhunt operation currently being conducted by the Pampanga Police Office (PPO).
Police identified the alleged rapist as one Alex Veltran, around 35 to 40 years old, and a native of Sta. Ana town.
Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio, chief of the PPO, said Veltran’s modus operandi is to pose as a patient and when gets the opportunity, sexually abuses the attending dentist.
“This modus operandi is prevalent in Metro Manila. So far, the dentist in Mexico town is our first victim of such modus here in Pampanga,” Tinio said.
The PPO already launched a manhunt operation against the suspect.
Moreover, the PPO and the Provincial Government held an orientation for Kapampangan dentists on possible safety measures against poser clients.
Tinio assured members of the Philippine Dental Association in Pampanga that they are ready to provide maximum security for them against rapists.
Governor Pineda asked the dentists to provide details of their clinics so police can respond immediately should they receive reports of harassment.
