Newsman reports duplicate name entry in Pamintuan JOs
ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – In the graft and corruption case filed against Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan and several other City Government Officials, veteran newsman Robledo Sanchez reported a “glaring irregularity” in the appointment of job order employees in the form of duplicate name entry.
Sanchez notes a certain Nerisa Eroles, whose name is listed as a Health Educator under the AIDS COUNCIL.
According to a document in Sanchez’ possession, dated July 31, 2012, the appointment of Eroles is from August 1, 2012 to September 20, 2012. However, another document, dated July 20, 2012, states that Eroles’ appointment is from July 1, 2012 to September 30, 2012.
In his complaint, Sanchez said that “unless there exists two different persons by the same named of Eroles, Nerisa, these appointments are clearly dubious, illegal and unmistakably intended to defraud the government”.
Aside from duplicate name entries, Sanchez also previously disclosed other irregularities in the city’s job orders which included the appointment of several former barangay captains and relatives of Pamintuan as job order employees.
Sanchez reported that the former barangay captains received a rate of P272 to P972 while the relatives of Pamintuan received a rate of P300 to P972.
City Government Officials facing the graft and corruption charges with Pamintuan include City Accountant Wilfredo Tiotuico, City Budget Officer Fe Corpuz, City Treasurer Juliet Quinsaat, and the different respective Department Heads.
The complaint filed against Pamintuan and company is primarily for violation of Republic Act (RA) 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of Public Officials and Employees.
