New York Wine and Culinary Center begins $200,000 renovation project

Renovations are underway at the New York Wine and Culinary Center to transform the building and improve the experience for visitors, the center announced in a press release.
Renovations, with a price tag of $200,000, include turning the current Tasting Room into banquet space that will hold 150 people. The area where the Gift Boutique is located will become the Tasting Room and the Gift Boutique will be moved into the Exhibit Room. Exhibits on display in the Exhibit Room will be placed throughout the building.
The open area in Taste of New York Restaurant on the second floor of the center will be filled in. This will allow the restaurant to provide more seating for patrons and a quieter atmosphere, according to the center.
The center is raising money to cover the expenses. The “Set the Table” Captial Campaign includes naming rights to chairs and tables in the Taste of New York restaurant. For $500, donors may purchase a chair and for $1,000, donors may purchase a table. To purchase a dining set that includes one table and four chairs, donors must give $2,500.
The donor’s name will appear on a plaque on the furniture purchased. Other naming rights opportunities are also available.
The renovations are scheduled to be completed by May as the center looks forward to celebratings its fifth anniversary in June.
