New regional police chief installed

CAMP OLIVAS — Chief Superintendent Edgardo Ladao formally assumed Tuesday the top post of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon, replacing Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima.
PNP Deputy Chief for Operations Raul Castañeda witnessed the change of command between the incoming and outgoing regional police director in behalf of PNP Director General Raul Bacalzo.
In his speech, Ladao praised his predecessor and vowed to continue his projects for they all adhere to the “daang matuwid” (Straight Path) advocacy of President Benigno Aquino III.
Ladao is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sandigan” Class of 1982.
Prior to this assignment, he served as chief of the Northern Police District which has jurisdiction over the Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela area of Metro Manila.
Ladao likewise headed the Zambales Provincial Police Office and the Anti-Organized Crime Group.
Meanwhile, Purisima has been designated as the new director of the National Capital Region Police Office replacing Police Director Nicanor Bartolome who is now the chief of directorial staff – the fourth highest official of the PNP.
