ANGELES CITY – Leaders of various associations of stall owners and vendors at the Pampang and San Nicolas Public Markets today came out in the open to support the re-election bid of Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, even as they criticized what they called as the dirty tactics of Congressman Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin’s camp particularly Irish “IC” Calaguas, the congressman’s chief of staff.
Leticia Lobo, chairwoman of the San Nicolas Market Multipurpose Cooperative, said that the administration of Mayor Pamintuan restored discipline and orderliness in the public markets of Angeles City while respecting the rights of stall owners and vendors.
“That is a big achievement and for that we will support his re-election bid,” Lobo said.
This was echoed by cooperative vice chairwoman, Loreta Edralin, who said that Mayor Pamintuan has the support of 80% to 90% of women at the Pampang Market.
“His ‘walang-lagay’ policy is really true unlike during previous administrations,” she stressed.
Both Lobo and Edralin appealed to the Lazatin camp to accept the demand of the people and stop dirty politicking.
“The poisonous politics of Lazatin is again showing its dirty head,” they added.
“Mayor Pamintuan’s programs implemented in just over two years outdid those of his predecessors.
From 1998 to 2012 or 12 long years, there was no development in the public markets in Angeles City .
Mayor Pamintuan placed priority focus on it and we now see much, much better markets,” said Mauricio Mangulabnan, chairman of the San Nicolas Stall Owners Association.
“We will support Mayor Pamintuan because he is a working mayor and a man of his words. May isang salita at tunay na gawa,” he added.
Let us not forget his legacy projects like the City College of Angeles, the Renal Care Unit, the improvement of the Ospital Ning Angeles, the MedKalinga Center , and many more” said Lolita Soriano, president of the Association of Vendors at San Nicolas Public Market.
Gerino Lagman, vice president of the vendors association, said that “The only active, pro-people and healthy candidate for mayor is Atty. Ed Pamintuan. He has our full support.”
