Lawmaker donates P221T for seniors, townsfolk

STA. ANA — Third district Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. donated P221,000 cash assistance for senior citizens and other development projects in this town Thursday.
Gonzales, who was one of the guest speakers during Thursday’s farmers’ congress in Barangay San Roque, said the donation is part of his commitment to local officials here in the different development concerns of the town.
Some P50,000 of the said donation will be given to the local senior citizens organization here for their local programs.
The amount will be used for the benefit of senior citizens in the form of wellness programs, health assistance and other incidental programs.
The congressman said some P100,000 will be given to the Municipal Government for the purchase of bicycles for farmers in the town, while another P21,000 was promised for the purchase of uniforms of the basketball tournament in the town.
Mayor Rommel Concepcion, for his part, thanked Gonzales for the financial assistance to the projects of the town, adding the lawmaker has been very supportive of the various programs of the municipality.
Gonzales, for his part, said he will continue to support the development programs of the town.
He urged farmers who attended the event to continuously strive for the full development of the business sector here through the use of modern techniques and facilities.
“I am a son of a farmer and I understand the aspirations of our farmers here. I am all-out in supporting the farmer sector here and continuously provide for the funding of programs and needed infrastructure,” he said.
He earlier donated a P4-million farm tractor here, as well as financed the construction of farm infrastructures and assistances.
