Theme: Comparative Tasting of Five Most Important Styles of Red Wines featuring the grape varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Merlot.

Date: Saturday, 17th September, 2011

Venue: Yats Restaurant and Wine Bar, Mimosa, Clark Freeport, Pampanga

Theme: Wine and Cheese Tasting of different kinds of cheeses paired against three types of wine namely dry white wine, dry red wine and Port wine.

Ticket Price: php1,300

Theme: Comparative Tasting of two clashing styles of wine, commonly referred to as New-world and Old-world. Instead of listening and reading about it, participants can acquire much better insight into the differences in styles and nuances of the two different styles and also understand that the connotations pertain more to style than geography.

Venue: Clearwater Resort and Country Club Garden Café by the lake

Theme: “Best of France” is a comparative tasting of red wines from the five greatest wine regions of France namely Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, Languedoc and Loire. These wines form the foundation of wines produced around the world and serve as the benchmark for not only quality but also style and longevity of classic red wines.

Ticket Price: php500

Food is not included in the price of a ticket although participants may reserve a table to enjoy a dinner at the Clearwater Café that offers a good view of the famous lake in Clark. Participants who wish to stay overnight to enjoy a game of golf for example, before or after the event may book a room at Clearwater which is offering a 10% discount for the night of 16th December and 20% discount for those who stay two nights from 15th and 16th. Format of YATS Wine Experience – YWE – Session

These tastings are different from other commercial tastings. The wines from these tastings are not sponsored by a wine merchant and there are no salesmen. You are in the company of people from all ages and all walks with one common interest – wine.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discount. Each ticket comes with five tasting stubs. The wines are lined up at a wine service station. Present a ticket at this station to surrender the stubs to redeem a tasting pours (roughly 55-60ml per pour) of five wines on the line-up.

Someone will always be available to answer questions or discuss topics pertinent to the theme of the wines in the event. Otherwise the event is a self-paced tasting exercise that is the most structured and economical way to sample interesting wines.

YATS Wine Cellars cater to private wine tasting parties and from time to time offers public wine tasting events called Yats Wine Experience. Yats Wine Experience is a public wine appreciation event.
