Group now accepting songs for Christmas album

\CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — OkMusica, the leading group of Kapampangan composers, musicians and artists, is now accepting submissions from Kapampangan songwriters for “Pasku Pampanga” (Pampanga Christmas).
Senior Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan said the submission of songs for the upcoming Christmas album, the second volume of Kapampanga Christmas songs, is open to all Kapampangan composers, musicians and artists.
Pangilinan told Sun.Star Pampanga that songs should be in the Kapampangan language, with the message of the lyrics preferably in accordance with Christmas as celebrated in Pampanga or by Kapampangans, or stories related to the birth of Jesus Christ.
It can be a carol, a full song or a jingle, while Kapampangan Christmas songs that cover other topics related to Christmas, like “Christmas tree,” and “Santa Claus”, may be considered if they are lyrically and musically exceptional.
The song must not contain any obscene and foul language, Pangilinan said.
The songs should be radio-friendly and may be in any genre like pop, alternative, acoustic, folk, rock, jazz, novelty, bossa, classical/choral, ballad, children, or a combination of any of the musical types, and should be submitted in studio recording quality, arranged using real or real-sounding virtual instruments, mixed and mastered, she added.
The songwriter/owner of the song must submit the typewritten or computer print-out of the lyrics with song credits, and the CD containing the full song (in CD audio format) enclosed in a short brown envelope with the title of the song, full name of the songwriter/owner, residential address, email address and contact numbers written on the envelope and at the end of the lyrics sheet.
The title of the song should be written on the CD face using a permanent marker. The song credits-name of the composer/s, lyricist/s, arranger and the artist/s-must be indicated in the lyrics sheet below the title of the song.
A songwriter (whether as composer or lyricist or both) may submit a maximum of three songs for consideration by the screening and working committee.
Deadline for submission is 6 p.m. of on August 15, at Pampanga’s Best, Dolores, City of San Fernando, Pampanga or at the City Tourism Office.
