There are many famous beaches in South Korea. South Korea is known for having excellent beaches and these sandy playgrounds that line the coast of South Korea are among the top natural parks in South Korea. One of the main reasons why South Korea is my favorite travel destination is because South Korea is home to many famous beach destinations. South Korea is highly recommended for a great beach holiday because the water activities are unbelievable and some of the coasts give you spectacular sunsets.
The best time to visit South Korea is during your summer vacation. It is very hot in South Korea during the months of July and August and this is the best time to be at one of the many great beaches in South Korea. Some of the top beaches in South Korea are located on the coast next to the East Sea (Sea of Japan) which is known for its simple coastline and crystal clear waters. If you are holidaying somewhere near the East Sea in South Korea, then among the best beaches in South Korea that you might want to visit here are the Guryongpo Beach in Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do which got its name from a famous myth where nine dragons were seen flying into the sky from the ocean and is encompassed by Yeongil bay like the lake which offers great fishing opportunities to visitors, Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do which is the largest beach along the east coast of South Korea and you can join in water sports such as banana boating, jet skiing and water skiing and visit nearby ancient buildings with their incredible scenery such as Gyeongpodae and Ojukheon, Naksan Beach in Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do which has many lodging complexes, convenience stores and attractions such as Naksansa Temple and tourist areas such as Gwandong and Uisangdae, and the Sokcho Beach in Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do which is known for its expansive white sands and amazing views against the backdrop of pine groves with Mt. Seoraksan National Park located very near this beach and Sokcho beach also plays an important role in promoting Sokcho-si as a famous tourist destination in South Korea along with places of interest such as Cheoksan Hot Springs, Cheongchoho, Seorak Mountain and Yeongrangho.
Some of top beach destinations in South Korea are found along the coastlines on the West Sea. Many tourists are known to take day trips to the beaches from Seoul using the excellent transport services found in South Korea. Popular beaches in South Korea that are seen on the West Sea include the Byeonsan Beach in Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do which is part of the Byeonsanbando National Park and the top attractions in Byeonsan Beach are its two kilometers of long white sand beach and the windbreaker fir forest of Bangpungrim, the Daecheon Beach in Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do which is the biggest beach on the west coast and is known for its shallow waters, Dol (stone) Park, Jogak (sculpture) Park and the Boryeong mud, the Eurwangni Beach in Incheon, Gyeonggi-do which is located southwest of Yongyudo Island near Incheon International Airport whereby many tourists come here for day trips due to close proximity to Seoul and the Muchangpo Beach in Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do which is known for its Miracle of Moses where the sea parts twice a month around the midpoint and last day of the lunar month on Seokdaedo Island and this beach in the West Sea is surrounded by a dense forest of pine trees.

My favorite beach in the South Sea is the Haeundae Beach in Haeundae-gu, Busan-si which is a top beach in South Korea and is known for the sight of the moonrise from Haewoljeong Pavilion. You must not miss the view of the moon from Dalmaji Road and the hot spings near Haeundae Beach are known to cure diseases. Some of the famous events and festival being celebrated in Haeundae Beach are the Haemaji (sunrise greeting) festival, the Polar Bear Swimming Contest, the Haeundae Sand Festival, the Haeundae Beach Festival and the Busan International Film Festival. One place of interest at Haeundae Beach is the Folk Square where you can enjoy traditional games such as Korean wrestling, Neoldduigi (seesaw jumping), Tuho (arrow throwing) and yutnori. The Sangju Beach in Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do which is the biggest beach on the southern part of South Korea and Sangju Beach is known for its unique rocks and stones besides being sheltered by Mount Geumsan. At Sangju Beach, sunrise is best seen at Geumsan Boriam and you can go for ocean fishing at Namuseom Island or Dolseom Island (Rock Island). Travelers to South Korea must take note that the beaches in South Korea open in early July and close towards the end of August.
