Ex-Sulu mayor killed, wife hurt in attack

ZAMBOANGA CITY — A former town mayor of Sulu province died while his wife was injured when they were attacked in this city Monday, a top police official said.
Zamboanga City police director Edwin de Ocampo identified the fatality as former Maimbung town mayor Najiv Maldisa while the latter’s fourth wife, Ahiba, was critically injured.
He said the couple was traveling to the city proper coming from their residence when motorcycle-riding gunmen attacked them around 8:15 a.m. Monday in front of the public cemetery in San Roque village, west of this city
