Daga-Daga Group robs Tarlac drugstore
CAMP OLIVAS – Members of the so-called “Daga-Daga” group robbed a Mercury Drugstore branch in Tarlac and carted away with P27,800 in cash and several energy drinks, police reported Tuesday.
The incident reportedly happened over the weekend when the suspects gained entry to the drugstore by creating a hole at the building’s steel roof, and destroying the ceiling beneath the clerical area.
Senior Superintendent Alfred Corpus, Tarlac police provincial director, said the suspects ransacked the store’s pantry, manager’s room and the prescription/counter area.
Not contented, the suspects took all the coins kept beside the vault amounting to some P27,800 and energy drinks, cosmetics and chocolate products, he said.
The report said the suspects also ate inside the drug store as evidenced by recovered empty wrappers of different chocolate brands scattered inside the establishment.
The robbers then fled on board an unknown vehicle, the report said.
The CCTV installed inside the store revealed the facial features of one of the suspects, and is now the subject for further identification.
The lone security guard detailed at the drugstore, identified as Jessie dela Cruz told police that he did not hear any noise or notice anything unusual during the incident.
The guard said his main post is in the front of the drugstore. (Ric Sapnu)
