Capitol to build more classrooms

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Capitol asked principals of national high schools in the province on Friday to submit on or before May 15 their respective school development plans containing their needs.
The Provincial Government led by Governor Lilia Pineda is poised to build additional classrooms and improve school facilities.
The governor met with school heads at the Bren Z. Guiao after the orientation of valedictorians, salutatorians and honor students who will receive financial assistance from Capitol for the next school year.
Pineda said the additional classrooms, including the construction of comfort rooms and installation of water facilities in identified public high schools is on top of the financial assistance students, which will be sourced from Capitol’s School Board fund of P42 million.
She told Sun.Star Pampanga: “We already have some buildings and classrooms for bidding. These are for barangay high schools which have students of 80 to 90 per classroom. There will be additional three classrooms for these schools.”
She said that if need be, Capitol will hire additional teachers.
“Kung kailangan ng additional teachers, magpapa-job order ako ng teachers,” Pineda said.
The governor said education is a priority program of her administration and that classrooms are vital to learning of students.
“Kailangan namin iyung data sa school development plan ninyo. Ito ay isang pangunahing problemang ating tutugunin through our school board,” she told the principals, adding Capitol will augment whatever the Department of Education has in its pipeline.
