Calibration site launched in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT — The Department of Natural Resources and the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines Inc. (Gepi) launched over the weekend the first-ever calibration site for geodetic equipments at the Stotsenberg Park here.
The event, done in partnership with the Clark Development Corporation, was spearheaded by the Land Management Bureau (LMB) of the DENR and the Regional Division of the Gepi in Central Luzon. Seven markers were unveiled by DENR and Gepi officials on the said site.
The calibration site is in compliance with the LMB Memorandum Circular 2010-004 that mandates the establishment of calibration sites and markers in various locations in the country for geodetic instruments.
Don De Dios of the DENR said the new site will serve as the calibration site for Pampanga and nearby towns of neighboring provinces. The site aims to make all equipments up to standard set by the government.
The facility is open to the public and may be used by people with related instruments in need of calibration. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
