Bizman’s family: ‘Justice for Jack’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The family of murdered businessman Florencio “Jack” Yap continues the cry for justice, appealing to the police to solve the killing.
A year ago, Yap, along with Rene Tetangco — brother of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amado Tetangco — and Dennis Guinto, were found dead inside a Ford Expedition parked abandoned in a vacant lot along Friendship Avenue, Barangay Pampang, Angeles City.
A security guard identified as Joseph Maderaso, detailed at the Barvaria Lions Restaurant along Friendship Avenue, found the three already dead inside the SUV owned by Yap.
The victims sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies from an M-16 rifle.
Then Central Luzon Police Director Alan LM Purisima ordered the creation of the YTG task force headed by Senior Superintendent Wendy Rosario to gather more evidence on the slaying of the three persons.
Probers handling the controversial YTG multiple murder case are, however, at a standstill with the absence of witnesses and other pieces of evidence.
The task force had focused on the evidence lifted from the vehicle where the three were found, and were getting more information regarding the case.
A former member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit assigned in Nueva Ecija, identified as Allan Garcia, was earlier tagged as the suspect behind the murders. He, however, remains on the loose.
“It’s been one year and investigators have not come up with any solid evidence or lead on the case. We are all facing a blank wall. After a year, we are still crying out for justice,” said Yap’s elder brother Ferbun.
Yap’s wife Teresita added that despite the updates being relayed to them by authorities, nothing seems to be new.
Even with the P1 million reward, a big part of it pledged by businessmen who want the case solved and justice served, Ferbun said no one has really come up to provide information and solid testimonies regarding Yap’s killing, except for the robbery angle investigators are looking into.
