Binay backs Pelayo congressional bid
CANDABA, PAMPANGA – Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay vowed anew his all out support to Mayor Jerry Pelayo’s bid for the Fourth District Congress race in the 2013 midterm election as the latter is poised to slug it out with former Congressman Rimpy Bondoc.
Binay, who visited this town, joined the Sangguniang Kabataan officials in the district in a simple gathering held in Barangay Lanang, this town.
The vice president asked the youth leaders to support the candidacy of the three-term mayor and his advocacy for genuine development focused on the basic needs of the people in the congressional district.
Binay said with Pelayo in Congress, the people will have a proper representation in terms of legislative measures and bringing more projects, programs and services to the eight municipalities of the province that may uplift the way of life of the people, particularly in the coastal villages and other remote areas.
The Vice President said that Pelayo has put Candaba into the world map particularly on environment protection and eco-tourism.
Binay, who considers Pelayo as a personal friend, said the initiative of the mayor has transformed the town into a productive community.
He commended and tested the loyalty of Pelayo and because of this, the Vice President said, he admires him and wants to be with the mayor all the way in the 2013 election.
The Vice President also expressed support to the candidacy of Patrick Gerald Pelayo for the mayoral race in this town as he also attended the recent launch of Anak Ng Candaba (ANC)–a local party chaired by the younger Pelayo.
