‘BEST MAYOR OF ANGELES CITY’ Sectors salute EdPam
ANGELES CITY. – Sectoral groups including women, youth, barangay officials, market entrepreneurs and transport have joined together to salute Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, for being voted as one of the Most Outstanding Mayors of 2012 by Superbrands Marketing International (SMI), a prestigious worldwide organization known for branding quality products.
“Good governance results to genuine awards and accolades. Only in his first comeback term, Mayor Ed has already surpassed previous administrations in terms of services, projects and recognitions. Indeed, Atty Pamintuan is the best of the bests,” said Liga ng mga Barangay president Joseph Dimapilis.
“As Atty. EdPam promised during his State of the City Address last year, the ‘best is yet to come’ for Angeles City . And as usual, he has fulfilled his promise.
Humahakot na ng awards ang Angeles City at ang ating Punong-Lungsod dahil sa mga wastong programa, makatotohanan at maka-mamamayang programa.”said Ing Makababaying Aksyon Foundation (IMA) Board Member Dory Sy-Hian.
Pamintuan received the “Most Outstanding Mayor Award” from SMI during formal ceremonies held Wednesday at the posh Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati City .
Six other local chief executives from across the country received the award for their exemplary performance in governance in their respective localities.
The other mayors are Jeannie Barzaga of Dasmarinas, Cavite ; Benjie Lim of Dagupan, Pangasinan; Alfredo Lim of Manila ; Marilyn Naguiat of Binan, Laguna; Maynard Sabili of Lipa, Batangas; and Jonathan Tan of Pandan, Antique.
Albert Danting of the Partido Abe Kapampangam-Youth Sector, said, “The Superbrands Most Outstanding Mayor Award is a validation that Atty. Ed Pamintuan, our chief executive and chairman of our Partido Abe Kapampangan, is indeed a world class mayor.
He is one of the 25 finalists for the World Mayor 2012 prize and now he is adjudged as one of the outstanding mayors of the country by another international organization.”
“And with a world mayor at the helm of Angeles Cit , we are sure that we will soon become a world class city,” Danting added.
“Atty. Ed Pamintuan has been running-away with awards as if it is his way of life. We believe this is due to his genuine advocacy for environment protection, education, health, livelihood and protection of the people’s rights.

“Mayor Ed is like Greek mythology’s King Midas. Anything he touches turns to gold. In the 1990’s, he led the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Angeles City from the natural disaster that was the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.
Now, Atty. EdPam is leading the city to progress and development. The latest SWS survey of enterprises showing Angeles City as among the least corrupt is also a proof,” said Merenciana Coronel, head of Kapisanan ng mga Kababaihan para sa Kagalingan ng Angeles (KKKA).
“Angeles City has been very progressive with the help from Mayor Ed and the Angelenos, there are different programs for different baranggays for urban poor, youth and many more, congrats Mayor Ed,” said Frank Ang, of Barangay San Jose and officer of the cooperative of former barangay chairmen.
Federation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (FEDTODA) president Federico Punzalan, said, “Sa administrasyon po ng ating kasulukuyang Mayor Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan nagkaroon ng boses ang hanay ng transportasyon lalo na ang mga trycicle at sa bagong naipasang ordinansa.”
“Mayor EdPam’s inclusion in Superbrand as one of the outstanding mayors for 2012 further strengthened the awards bestowed by DILG and reaffirmed the recognition of SWS that Angeles City under his stewardship is the least corrupt LGU in the nation.
