AUF, SM City Clark to stage Flores de Mayo tilt

ANGELES CITY — The Angeles University Foundation, in cooperation with the SM City Clark, will stage the annual Search for the Reyna Ning Flores de Mayo 2011 at the mall’s event center on May 28.
AUF president Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles said a total of 24 young women from different towns and cities of Pampanga will compete, wearing original creations of local designers.
Considered as the province’s grandest Flores de Mayo competition, the event is for the benefit of charity patients at the AUF Medical Center and AUF scholars.
The winning sagalas will received P30,000 for the grand winner; P25,000 for the 1st runner-up; P20,000 for the 2nd runner-up; P15,000 for the 3rd runner-up; and P10,000 for the 4th runner-up.
Big cash awards also await designers of the Best Filipino Gown and Best Arch.
Flores de Mayo, as distinguished from the traditional Santacruzan, refers to the whole flower festival celebrated in the month of May.
