5 killed in shoot-out, Gerona police solve Baguio City carnap, murder cases
GERONA, Tarlac—In a quick-response operation, police here neutralized five gunmen who allegedly carnapped a Toyota Innova in Baguio City and whose owner was found dead in Pozorrobio, Pangasinan early Sunday morning.
In his report to Tarlac PPO director Senior Supt. Alfred Corpus, Gerona chief of police Supt Ponciano Zafra identified the victim as Atty. Roldan R. Ymson of 122 South Sanitary Camp, Baguio City.
Three of the five suspects were identified later as Dennis Magadang Y Lingbawan, 27, of #143 Purok 4, Lucnab, Baguio City; Rey Alonzo, 32, of Barangay Ba-ay and Roger Gorospe, 27, of Barangay Asibanglan both of Pinukpok, Kalinga.
Zafra said that prior to the incident, they received a telephone call from a concerned citizen reporting that unidentified armed men on board a silver Toyota Innova with plate number NDO-933 were sighted in a farm house maintained by one Bradley Bulosan in Barangay Danzo this town.
Immediately, he formed a team and proceeded to the place and at around 4 a.m., the team spotted the vehicle that was parked inside the compound of the said farm.
Zafra then, informed Bulosan through cellphone, that their target vehicle was inside their compound but the latter replied that they did not expect any visitor and denied knowledge of the vehicle.
When Zafra’s team approached the group, they were shot at with sustained firepower prompting them to retaliate and after a half-hour of firefight, “four male and one female on the enemy side were killed-in-action.”
The Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team that processed the crime scene recovered the Toyota Innova 2.5 E Wagon with plate number NDO-933, two caliber 38 Smith & Wesson pistols without serial number, a caliber 45 pistol Gold Cup with SN # 114932, a caliber 38 pistol with SN # 0462, nine fired cartridge cases for caliber 38, five fired cartridges for caliber 45, one MK2 hand grenade, four fired cartridges for cal 9MM and 17 fired cartridges for caliber 5.56.
The bodies of the suspects were brought to Ilagan Funeral Homes in Tarlac City for an autopsy. The remains of Magadang were already claimed by his family.
Corpus lauded Zafra for solving the Baguio City carnapping and murder case in just about four hours after the crime incident.
