CAMP OLIVAS — Police over the weekend raided a suspected sex den in Angeles City and rescued at least 43 individuals.
Combined operatives from the Women and Children’s Police Desk in Camp Crame, Angeles City Police Office (Acpo) and the Acpo Station 4 conducted a police rescue operation at the Sweet Girl Honey Pot, located along Fields Avenue in Barangay Balibago.
The police operation stemmed from the complaint of one Ledillia Cortez, a native of Capas, Tarlac. Cortez alleged that her 17-year-old niece was held and peddled for prostitution at the suspected sex den.
Station 4 commander Luisito Tan said the raid was conducted late last week, resulting in the rescue of 43 individuals believed to be working as dancers and servers at the suspected sex den.
Five other persons, including operators and managers, were arrested in the same raid.
Tan said the suspected sex den will be temporarily closed.
Rescued and arrested individuals were taken to the office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Camp Crame.
On September 2010, national authorities have also raided two entertainment clubs in Field Avenue after investigations proved violation of the Human Trafficking Act.
At least 300 persons, including club managers, waiters and waitresses, dancers and some customers, were detained following the raid.
