41 companies offer 3,000 vacancies at SM job fair

CLARK FREEPORT — Around 3,271 job vacancies were offered to hundreds of jobseekers and applicants at the SM City Clark Labor Day job fair on Sunday, in cooperation with the Clark Investors and Locators Association (Cila) and Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
Cila office manager Joanne Pangilinan told Sun.Star Pampanga that some 41 companies inside the Freeport and SM City Clark participated in the event at SM City Clark’s Event Center.
Pangilinan said the event had attracted close to 3,000 job applicants from Angeles City and neighboring towns.
She said that though there was a positive turnout of applicants, jobseekers would still have to be evaluated based on available qualifications matched with the criteria set by the hiring company.
Meanwhile, SM City Clark public relations officer Venus Manalang said the huge turnout of applicants had reminded SM of the need for more job fair activities in the coming months.
“This job fair will be followed by similar activities in the coming months. As part of SM’s corporate social responsibility program, we want to become a part in the development of the community. And job fairs like this give our people the opportunity for employment to improve their living,” Manalang said.
Manalang said SM City Clark is thankful to the participants of this year’s event. Participating companies in the job fair include Advanpoint Inc.
