Mayor to employees: Spread love everywhere you go

MABALACAT — Adopting the words of Mother Teresa as a Valentine’s Day message, Mayor Marino Morales on Monday urged government employees here “to spread love everywhere you go.”

Morales, in his speech during Monday’s flag raising ceremony, stated that love should be expressed at home.

“Give love to your children, to your husband or wife, to your neighbors. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier,” he said.

“Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting,” he added.

According to him, Valentine’s Day is a special day for people to enhance their love and renew their bond with those who are dear to them.

“If only we could do this every single day of our lives, then there could be less tension in our relationship with our spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend,” he said.

The mayor also quoted a French writer, Antoine de Saint-Exupery, who said that “loving is not just looking at each other but looking in the same direction.”

By these words, Morales said a couple should “focus on what you two cold become and concentrate on the things you could accomplish together and not apart.”

He also stressed Joel Osteen’s quotes, which say: “Complimenting each other is the glue that holds a relationship together.”

After the flag raising ceremony, Morales visited various offices at the municipal hall and gave roses and chocolates to female employees.
