Duck raisers eye wholesale market for eggs
February 14, 2011
CANDABA β Members of the Duck Raisers’ Cooperative here are reiterating their request to the Provincial Government to assist them in looking for a wholesale market on eggs produced by the livestock industry here, reaching more than 200,000 daily.
Valentin Ignacio, a duck raiser, said there is so much supply of eggs for retailers in the province, with the livestock industry in this town growing.
Ignacio said the eggs are being sold at the newly established Bagsakan Center here, which is duly managed by their cooperative.
Earlier, Mayor Jerry Pelayo provided a P12-million loan to the duck raisers during their initial operations.
After a few years, Ignacio claimed that their cooperative has already registered a common fund of P7 million.
Governor Lilia Pineda had earlier promised that her administration will fully support this town’s duck raising industry. Pineda also committed to provide the necessary financial augmentation for the construction of a feed mill, which the duck raisers urgently need.
