February 14, 2011
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The police force here has beefed-up anti-criminality checkpoints all over the city to answer provincial and regional peace and order councils’ call to curb crimes after the recent spate of carjackings and theft.
According to checkpoint team leader Insp. Willy Manaloto of the City of San Fernando police, the checkpoints are conducted 24 hours, seven days a week in strategic places in the city.
βPaiba-iba po kami ng lugar upang hindi tayo ma-monitor ng mga criminal elements,β he said.
Manaloto said that checkpoint teams are particular with tandem riders, as well as suspicious-looking vehicles, especially those registered outside of the region.
βSana po ay makipagtulungan ang ating mga mamamayan upang matigil na ang mga carnapping at ibang krimen dito. Kami po ay handa sa lahat ng oras na rumisponde,β he added.
Recently, the Capitol, led by Governor Lilia Pineda, has created a stronger anti-crime task force composed of major law agencies in the war against crime plaguing the province. (Jovi T. De Leon)
