Lawmaker distributes P4.2M in scholarship assistance

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO โ€” Third district Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr. on Sunday led the distribution of P4.2 million in scholarship assistance to some 1,400 college students, as part of his early Valentineโ€™s Day program for constituents of his district.

Gonzales told Sun.Star Pampanga that the 1,400 students mark an addition to his already growing number of scholarship beneficiaries now numbering more than 8,000.

Additional scholarship grants were given Sunday at his district office in Barangay Sindalan.

He said the beneficiaries are former applicants who are desperately in need of scholarship assistance.

Gonzales said he is now running on personal funds for the additional scholarship grants.

The congressman also said he will launch a series of Valentineโ€™s Day programs this month for his constituents. These include a medical mission and a host of feeding programs to be spearheaded by his wife, Beth. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
