Village officials ask for assistance
February 14, 2011
MASANTOL β Barangay officials here the other day sought the assistance of the Provincial Government through Board Member Ricardo Yabut for the procurement of an ambulance.
Yabut said he was approached by the said officials to lobby with Governor Lilia Pineda regarding their request for an ambulance to better serve their sick constituents.
The officials came from the barangays of Sagrada, Candelaria, Bebe Anak, Alauli, Nique, Bagang and Sapang Kawayan this town.
According to these officials, they have difficulty bringing sick constituents to the nearest hospital because their respective areas are remote.
Some sick residents, they claimed, were not treated in the past because relatives preferred they stay at home rather than spend money for transportation.
Yabut, in a resolution, will be requesting the governor in behalf of the Provincial Government to purchase a common ambulance vehicle for the use of the said barangays.
Yabut is optimistic that his colleagues in the Provincial Board will unanimously approve his proposed resolution, and that the governor will favorably act upon it.
