Lawmaker eyes hospital for Apalit
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — After filing a resolution calling for the creation of a polytechnic college for Pampanga, Board Member Ricardo Yabut sought Monday the support of the Provincial Board (PB) for the establishment of the Apalit District Hospital.
Yabut stressed the need for the hospital in Apalit during the PB’s plenary three days ago.
“It really seems that the fourth district is lacking in facilities like hospitals and the necessary support from Capitol,” said Yabut.
He said a lot of patients and indigents wanting appropriate health care have to go to nearby health centers and hospitals in nearby Pulilan, Bulacan.
“Mayor Jun Tetangco is currently negotiating for an area where the hospital could be constructed. The people of Apalit badly need their own district hospital,” said Yabut.
He added that a hospital in Apalit will decongest the existing district hospitals in San Luis and Macabebe.
“It will not only provide immediate healthcare for ApaliteΓ±os but will also help them save on fare in going to far hospitals for their needs,” Yabut said. (Jovi T. De Leon)
