THE suspect in the brutal slaying of the owner of an internet cafรฉ was arrested Tuesday in his house in Barangay San Isidro, City of San Fernando.
In a report, Pampanga police Provincial Director Petronio Retirado identified the suspect as Jeffry Santos alias Ka Jepoy, 19, of Pilar Village, Barangay San Isidro.
Retirado, meanwhile, identified the victim as Leona Lumbang, 37, owner of ASUS Internet Cafรฉ located at Purok 1, Ponduan, Barangay San Jose of the said city.
Lumbang and her two children, Patrick, 8, and Jenna, 6, were inside their bedroom when the suspect entered the establishment Monday night.
The suspect, once inside, stabbed Lumbang in different parts of her body using a kitchen knife, Retirado said.
Jenna, who saw the incident, tried to help her mother but she was gut-punched by the suspect.
The suspect then pointed the knife at the two children and ordered them to go to sleep, the report said.
Retirado said the suspect then took P5,000 from the victimโs cabinet.
The suspect was presented before the two children. The children positively identified him as the same person who stabbed their mother.
Police recovered the knife used by the suspect in committing the crime.
The suspect is presently detained at the City of San Fernando Police Station as appropriate charges are being filed against him before the City Prosecutorโs Office, Retirado said. (Ric Sapnu)
