Low crime rate in Angeles City
Monday, December 20, 2010
ANGELES CITY — The city police has recorded a low crime volume this year compared to last year.
City police director Danilo Bautista said the crime rate, particularly during the Christmas season, is “very low”.
Bautista attributed the low crime rate to the renewed campaign of the Philippine National Police (PNP) against criminal syndicates.
The PNP office in Central Luzon, headed by Chief Superintendent Allan La Madrid Purisima, has implemented crime prevention program to reduce crimes particularly in urban areas like Angeles City.
“Tinutukan namin ang mga criminal elements lalu na yung mga ‘riding in tandem’,” Bautista said.
Aside from this, Bautista said police chiefs dispatched covert operatives as well as uniformed policemen in malls, churches, and other places of convergence in order to prevent robbers from striking.
Bautista admitted there were street crimes and burglaries that transpired in the city. But the incidents, he said, are minimal and petty. (Reynaldo Navales/Sunnex)
