Thursday, December 16, 2010
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) yesterday hosted a regional exhibit of the top architects in Central Luzon in a bid to promote renewed interest in the local infrastructure sector and promote the artistry of architects in the region.
The event, held at Wilcon Depot here, was attended by United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National President Ramon Mendoza, UAP District Director Menchie Manalo and UAP-Angeles City Chapter Past President Andy Gulapa and some 46 top architects from Luzon. Top investors and companies, along with their representatives, visited the exhibit which lasted for a whole day.
Gulapa told Sun.Star Pampanga that the event aims to promote the renewed interests in Central Luzon’s potential as the next infrastructure hub of Luzon. He said that the recent developments in the local real estate here and the coming of developers like Ayala and Camella is an indication of the robust potential of Central Luzon, particularly Pampanga and Tarlac, to host larger building projects.
“The business potential in Pampanga could not be ignored. Pampanga and the rest of Central Luzon are nestled between Clark and Subic Freeport and is at the crossroads of major highways and routes that make it conducive to business and future developments,” Gulapa said.
The exhibit highlights many of the major works of local architects and the possible areas of development in Pampanga and provinces in Central Luzon. The exhibit also featured large scale projects made by Kapampangan architects like the Grand View Tower.
According to Gulapa, Grandview Tower is a “first of its kind in Central Luzon, a 7-storey building molded into a modern paradise for luxurious living that provides hotel amenities with 24-hour security.” He said that other infrastructure projects have been led by successful Kapampangan architects.
The exhibit highlighted the fact that many talented architects come from Pampanga. The event ended with local infrastructure leaders committing to hold a bigger exhibit to promote large infrastructure building in Pampanga and Central Luzon.
