Laborers association gets House seat
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Association of Laborers and Employees (ALE) Party-list, led by former second district Board Member Catalina Bagasina, finally got their seat in Congress on Wednesday.
In an official document obtained by Sun.Star Pampanga, the Commission on Elections’ National Board of Canvassers for the Party-list System in the last national and local elections formally proclaimed ALE and made Bagasina its representative.
The document stated that having obtained the required percentage of votes under the party-list system of representation, ALE has entitled its qualified nominee, Catalina C. Bagasina, to a seat at the House of Representatives of the Congress of the Philippines. Bagasina will also serve a three-year term that ends June 30, 2013, in accordance with Section 7, Article VI of the Constitution.
In a recent interview, Bagasina said that she is elated with the canvass results.
She said she can now start working for the laborers and employees and address their needs.
Bagasinan added that her prayers have been answered and she can continue to serve her constituents. (Jovi T. De Leon)
