Governor’s visit: A reiteration of Quota service programs
QUOTA Gov. Lynne Piad visited the Quota ladies of Pampanga in an almost whole-day affair reiterating Quota principles, programs and projects for this year.
Quota Pampanga ladies were in full attendance and were admired for their royal metallic gray crisp uniforms that they wore with such chic fashion sense led by President Myra Manabat. Gov. Piad said that this year’s Quota programs are geared at promoting women and children’s rights.
“We need also to strengthen Quota membership in order to promote more of our programs and strengthen our community presence,” Piad said, urging members to come up with more community based programs for women and children.
Piad also lauded Quota Pampanga for its program support for the Special Education (Sped) class of Pampanga High School. Quota Pampanga, according to Manabat, has been continuously addressing the many educational needs of the special children in the said class. Currently Quota Pampanga has also been sending more than two-dozen children to school shouldering much of their tuition fees through the help of club members.
Piad, quoting International President Gwenn Jackson said: “More progress is possible when we all participate, utilizing the new publicity tools, embracing new training in membership recruitment and retention, sharing the opportunity for service in a near-by community through new club organization, and hosting ‘Listening Tour’ focus groups. Together, we are Delivering Possibilities for Quota International.”
The Quota District Governor is set to visit Quota Pampanga again in the coming months to update the ladies on new programs and developments in the Quota district and the international scene.
