Suspected rebels in clash identified
MEXICO — Police officials here have identified the three suspected members of the Marxist Leninist Proletariat Party (MLPP)-RHB who were killed in an encounter with government troops on July 30 at Barangay Sta. Cruz.
Police Chief Ferdinand Perez identified the suspects as Ricky Pineda Bais, alias Kano, 28, of Sitio Troso, Lagundi, Mexico; Albert Balajadia Macapagal, of Sto. Domingo; and Mark John Agustin Emelen, 23, of Purok Ilang-Ilang, Sabanilla.
Perez added the bodies of the alleged rebels are now under custody of their respective families.
Meanwhile, two siblings of Pineda, who requested not to be named, said they are still in shock at what happened to their brother, claiming that they were not aware that he is allegedly a member of MLPP-RHB.
βTwo years ago, nagpaalam siya na sasama siyang magta-trabaho kasama ang mga kamag-anak namin sa Maynila. Alam naming nagtatrabaho siya bilang construction worker. Paiba-iba, minsan daw nasa Baguio siya, minsan Zambales. Kaya hindi na namin siya hinanap. Isa pa, matagal na siyang hiwalay sa asawa niya,β one of the siblings narrated. (Marlon P. Beltran)
