Fourteen major locators are offering 3,255 jobs at the Clark Freeport in Pampanga; the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced. According to the Manila Bulletin, the outsourcing companies intend to fill up the vacancies before Christmas Eve.
The announcement was made following increasing outsourcing activity at Clark; with CDC President and CEO Benigno N. Ricafort stating that operations are expected to continue to grow. CDC calculates that the total investments for outsourcing in the Clark Freeport area has amounted to P68.63 billion; with a reported 3,000 additional jobs to open next year.
βTo address the effects of the world financial crisis, the CDC is working hand-in-hand with its locators and investors through the continuous holding of dialogue. Because of these regular consultations with Clark stakeholders we continue to improve our services,β stated Ricafort.
The low tax rate and freeport status of Clark were cited by Ricafort as major advantages Clark has over other outsourcing locations in the Philippines.
