Transglobal Airways starts Clark-UAE chartered flights
TRANSGLOBAL AIRWAYS, the first airline to fly to the Philippines from the Middle East via the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) in Clark, Pampanga, has started chartered operations, with the first flight expected to arrive from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at 2 a.m. today.
Victor Jose I. Luciano, Clark International Airport Corp. president and chief executive, said the new flights would allow Filipino migrants from the northern part of Luzon save time and transport costs since they no longer have to go to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila on their way to the Middle East.
Transglobal invested more than $10 million on its aircraft, which will fly on Mondays and Wednesdays from Clark and will make a technical stop in Dhaka, Bangladesh before proceeding to Fujairah, UAE.
Mr. Luciano said the airline owned by a group of Filipino, Taiwanese and Korean businessmen will invest another $10 million to expand its operations in Clark.
