Revenues reached P116.43 million last year, 33 percent more than the P78.07 million collected the previous year, the district office said in a statement.
Of the total collection last year, P83.741 million represents the General Fund while the remaining P32.687 million were earned from express lane collections.
The increase resulted from the officeโs โvibrant and transparent” collection scheme, Heranio B. Manalo, the immigration bureauโs Clark office chief said.
Revenues were earned from fees charged on tourist visa application extensions, special study permits, annual reports of permanent residents, and exit clearances, among others.
A large number of Indians, Koreans, Americans, and Turkish nationals are currently studying in various schools in Angeles City.
The Clark District Office was also highly successful in controlling and monitoring the flow of suspected tourist workers overseas who almost end up as prostitutes and victims of human trafficking.
The district office also vowed to go after erring illegal recruiters. – Joey Aguilar, GMANews.TV
