SM Pampanga holds seminar on caring for PWD customers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDOโ€“SM City Pampanga, in its desire to provide quality customer service, has recently conducted the first seminar for the year 2013 on caring for customers with special needs.
A recipient of the 26th Apolinario Mabini Awards 2011 as a PWD Friendly Establishment, SM Pampanga conducts this seminar twice a year to further educate its employees, tenants, housekeeping and security personnel to provide better service to persons with disabilities (PWDs).
SM Supermalls has been doing its best to provide quality customer service to loyal patrons and customers. SM has become like a second home. More than juts offering quality merchandise and services, SM is dedicated in pioneering initiatives that will make everyoneโ€™s malling experience as pleasurable as possible and worthwhile for just about anyone who enters its doors.
SM Pampanga has been privileged to have prominent and credible speakers to share awareness. A strong PWD advocate since 1997; 2002 Mabini Presidential Awardee and PRC Outstanding Professional for Architecture 2011 Architect Jaime โ€œJimmyโ€ G. Silva, talked on how to improve the service of the frontliners to persons with visual impairments.
โ€œEvery person and every citizen of this country has the right to be accommodated, to be included and to part of the Philippine built-environment,โ€ said Silva.
Also present in the seminar was the founding president of the Women with Disabilities Leap to Social and Economic Progress and the Executive Director of the National Council on Disability Affairs, Carmen R. Zubiaga, who talked on proper ways of communicating and assisting persons with disabilities.
SM Pampangaโ€™s organizing such seminars and advocacies is more than just being compliant with the requirements of a person with disability, as far as standard building codes are concerned, SM Supermalls will always nurture the consciousness that mallgoers with special needs must be attended to properly. โ— (Press Release)
