Angeles women group supports Guiao House bid

ANGELES CITY—At least 3,000 members of the Women’s Development of Pampanga Inc. on Sunday manifested their full support for the candidacy of Vice Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao for representative in the First District congressional district come May 2013.
In an interview, WDPI president Liza Zacarias said their group will give their all-out support to Guiao’s congressional bid because they believe he would be their voice in Congress in the promotion of women’s advocacy.
She said Guiao’s track record for good governance and transparency would promote progress and development in the First District, specifically Clark.
Zacarias said Guiao’s program to empower women in nation building is highly appreciated by each member of the WDPI, especially his livelihood program for women.
She said for the longest time, Guiao has organized livelihood programs, as well as medical missions, for the group.
“Epa man pu tatagal congressman susuporta ne kekami i Vice Governor Yeng kaya maragul pu saup kekami ing programa na,” Zacarias furthered.
Last August, majority of barangay chairmen in this city formally expressed their support to the 2013 congressional candidacy of Guiao.
Twenty-eight of the 33 village chiefs in this town signed a manifesto of support for Guiao’s next political step.
“We… strongly believe that Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, with his untarnished record as a public servant, modest character and sound leadership, will greatly complement our efforts and initiatives aimed at upholding and advancing the public welfare,” the chairmen stated in their manifesto of support.
“We have come in unity and solidarity, to manifest our unwavering support to the Honorable Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, vice governor of Pampanga, in his unselfish desire to serve the People of Angeles City, to be the representative of the First Congressional District of the province,” the manifesto declared. ●Marna Dagumboy-del Rosario
