Health office turns over new DPMMH building to Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A new two-storey building inside the Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DPMMH) was formally turned over Monday to the Provincial Government and the hospitalโ€™s management by the Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD).
DOH-CHD director Dr. Leonita Gorgolon led the inauguration along with Governor Pineda and Dr. Eddie Ponio, hospital administrator.
Gorgolon cited the efforts of the Provincial Government in the delivery of quality health services to the people.
โ€œThe new facility is aimed at enhancing the delivery of basic health services to the Kapampangans in the whole province,โ€ she said.
Ponio, meanwhile, said the two-storey building was conceptualized due to the continuous increase in patients, adding it is now ready to accommodate a maximum of 102 patients in PhilHealth Room, private and semi-private rooms, pedia ward, medical ward and surgical room.
He said another building is being constructed to serve as administrative offices and diagnostic clinics for CT scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), complete with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and facilities.
Pineda, for her part, said the Provincial Government is thankful to the National Government, particularly to the DOH, for providing the said building.
โ€œThis is in line with our vision of making Pampanga the healthiest province not only in Region III (Central Luzon) but in the whole country,โ€ the governor said.
The inauguration and turnover rites were also graced by other Provincial Government officials.
