Provincial Board okays P1.7-B annual budget

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Committee on Appropriations of the Provincial Board disclosed Thursday that the annual budget amounting to P1.7 billion has been approved to finance developmental projects for 2013.

Senior Board Member Crisostomo Garbo, chair of the Committee of Appropriations, said the approved budget would attest to the continuing commitment of Governor Lilia Pineda to improve the lives of the Kapampangans.

Garbo said the Provincial Government will continue working to strengthen the capabilities of the district hospitals in the province by constructing additional buildings and other health facilities to meet the growing needs of the people.

The senior board member said the province is now moving to the right direction as a result of the good relationship among the provincial elected officials both in the legislative and executive departments.

“Malaking bahagi ng budget ay nakalaan sa infrastructure sa pagsasaayos ng mga provincial roads at mga hospital natin,” he said.

“Noong nakaraan ay P1.4 billion and for 2013 ay P1.7 billion naman. Mayroon din tayong nakalaang pondo para sa mga flood mitigation projects natin,” he said.

Garbo, meanwhile, requested the local officials from various municipalities down to the barangay level to submit their budget proposals this early in order to avoid delay on the deliberation due to upcoming midterm elections.
