DOH to construct P10-M hospital extension
MACABEBE β Governor Lilia βNanayβ G. Pineda announced that the Department of Health- Center for Health Development Regional Office III will construct a P10-million two-storey hospital extension within the vicinity of Mayor Domingo B. Flores District Hospital in Batasan village here as she led yesterday the groundbreaking ceremony.
The said hospital was formerly known as Macabebe District Hospital and was renamed after the late father of Mayor Annette Flores-Balgan through a resolution approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during the term of the incumbent governor.
The proposed extension building will house the Out-Patient-Department (OPD), dietary section and emergency room to enhance the health services of the district hospital particularly those who are seeking health assistance from the municipalities of Apalit, Masantol and this town.
The governor who asked for the patience, diligence and politeness of the hospital employees said that the hospital was established for the health needs of the marginalized residents who belong to the poorest of the poor.
βYou should serve the people with utmost care and respect as the provision of quality health services is one of the main agenda of my administration,β she said.
Mayor Flores, on the other hand, commended the governor for her continuous support in this town as evident by the various projects and programs implemented here by the Capitol which directly affected the residents.
It can be noted that the provincial government has implemented the construction and total renovation of the main building of the district hospital last year with a total cost of P16-million.
