CILA, CDC create HR council
CLARK FREEPORT — The Clark Investors and Locators Association (Cila), together with Clark Development Corporation (CDC), created the Freeport Human Resources Council in a bid to streamline projects and services for jobseekers and employees of various locators inside this Freeport.
Cila and CDC gathered all the Human Resources (HR) practitioners and officers to a general assembly last Thursday at Hotel Stotsenberg. It was attended by more than 200 practitioners.

The attendees were welcomed by Cila president Jeannie Del Rosario-Ng and CDC president Benigno Ricafort. There was an open-forum facilitated by Cila executive director Justicia Dalida and CDC assistant manager Ervyn Joy Rivera after the presentation of Clark Employment Situationer and statistics on employment and HR services.
A similar HR council was created in 2006. However, it hasn’t moved so much since then. Cila has revived and re-organized it and has created 11 seats for its Council officers.
An election was conducted and the following companies gathered most of the votes: Texas Instruments, Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc., University of the Philippines — Clark Ext. Program, Clark Polytechnic, Luenthai International Groups, Peninsula Fashion International Corporation, Hotel Stotsenberg, CyberCity Teleservices, L & K Industries, Smart Shirts Ltd. and Kita Corporation.
“We are hoping that this new set of officers will be very active. And also with the full support of Cila and CDC with its programs, it would serve its purpose,” Dalida said.
The officers will be having their regular monthly meetings to have formal and concrete programs for the whole council to address the needs of their practice.
The officers will have their first meeting on August 21.
Cila and CDC have already lined-up some events for the group like a Job Fair at the Mimosa Convention Center and an Employment Congress by next September.
