Ex-cop’s son involved in illegal drug trade

MABALACAT — A former police officer’s son reportedly involved in the illegal drug trade was caught selling suspected shabu in Sitio Canidha, Barangay Camachiles here recently.
The town police named the suspect as Carlson Fangon, 24, single, of Purok 3 Barangay Camachiles, this town.
Superintendent Rolly Mendoza, town police chief, said Fangon was charged with drug pushing after allegedly caught by police operatives selling shabu in the said village during a buy-bust operation.
A police agent allegedly informed the local police that a certain Carlson is selling drugs in the said barangay, according to Mendoza.
A team of policemen belonging to the narcotics division set up a buy-bust operation to arrest the suspect.
During the operation, PO2 Raquel Sotto was introduced to Fangon by the police agent.
Sotto pretended to be a drug user and asked Fangon for P500 worth of shabu. The suspect allegedly took from his pocket the illegal drugs and handed them over to the police officer.
Fangon was arrested and is now detained at the Mabalacat Police Station.
But Fangon, together with his relatives, denied allegations that he was selling prohibited drugs.
The Fangon family said the drugs confiscated from the suspect were planted by police officers who conducted the anti-drug operation.
